The Pashmina Story
Pashmina, from the Persian word for wool, is popularly known in the west as cashmere wool. The fine wool comes from the undercoat of Himalayan mountain goats, raised by semi-nomadic herders. Each goat yields only 3-8 ounces per year. The Tibetan plateau provides the ideal environment for pashmina growth. The fiber is exceptionally absorbent, and it dyes very easily and deeply.
Whether you are enjoying a double or triple weave Pashmina from us, most of them also have some silk for added texture. They only get softer with frequent use. Cleaning is easy. We recommend washing in cold water with Woolite, rinsing until the water runs clear and hanging to dry out of direct sunlight. Enjoy!
